CHC33015 - Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing)

This course is subsidised by the SA Government's WorkReady initiative to eligible applicants.
Certificate III in Individual Support supersedes Certificate III in Aged Care, Home and Community and Disability and is now the standard qualification for the industry.
This qualification comprises three different streams - Ageing, Home and Community Care and Disability. The three streams share seven core units and then branch off to include six specific electives according to your chosen stream or combination of streams.
Wade Vocational Training’s program offers the Ageing specialisation units. Once you have successfully completed the program, you will be issued with the qualification CHC33015 - Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing)
Our courses are conducted at our fully equipped training rooms at 985 South Road, Melrose Park SA (opposite Castle Plaza). You are welcome to drop in and visit our premises at any time.
Ageing Stream Explained
The Ageing specialisation will provide the skills to commence a career in the community services industry and can provide a pathway into Certificate IV in Ageing Support or the Diploma of Nursing.
The focus of study is the well-being and independence appropriate to the aged person's emotional, social and physical wellbeing.
This course educates in the skills required to work as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in an aged care facility, a community support worker, a home care assistant, or a community care worker.
The skills gained are those required to support and care for older people. Students will learn how to provide personal care, support to an older person in activities of daily living and support the older person to meet emotional and psychological needs, provide care and support for individual with dementia and work effectively with culturally diverse clients.

This qualification consists of 13 units; 8 core and 5 electives.

Course Duration
Day option
The day option comprises a minimum of 22 weeks of classroom study as well as a 3-week full-time work placement which we will organise for you.
You will be required to attend classes two days per week and participate in approximately 6 hours per week completing additional home study activities. Your contact hours are between 9.00am and 3.00pm. You may also be asked to pre-read material in preparation for an upcoming session.
Students are offered the flexibility to adjust their training plan to take up to 12 months to complete the theory units of the course via a self-paced option.
Subsidised Training
Certificate III in Individual Support is subsidised by the SA Government's subsidised training.
If you have completed any subsidised training from 1 October 2015 onwards, it may affect your eligibility for additional course entitlements.
